“I believe the Helpline services provided by Bereavement Support HK offer much-needed comfort to those in grief.  I am happy to have the opportunity to give my time to support others through such difficult moments, and in doing so, it also gives me a deep sense of fulfilment”

– May Ly, Your Caring Companion

“While we can’t solve all the problems for those calling the Helpline, we hope to ease some of their pain by being compassionate, good listeners, and providing them the reassurance that they are not alone. This role allows me to truly embrace the spirit of counselling by helping to bring peace, hope and calm to people’s lives.”

– Dorothy Chan, Your Caring Companion

To maintain our vital helpline services and reach more individuals in need, we invite passionate volunteers to train as Caring Companions.

Our comprehensive training programme equips you with essential skills and knowledge, including understanding the roles and rules of Grief Companions, as well as mastering telephone counselling techniques. We will also guide you on when and how to access community referral resources.

Our training goes beyond the basics, offering dynamic case studies, engaging group discussions, and hands-on practical sessions to enhance your analytical skills. Experienced instructors will observe and supervise you through real-life scenarios, helping you refine your skills and build confidence.
